Wait, What Happened Sunday?

Wait, What Happened Sunday?

Wait just a minute, what just happened on Sunday? Some kids stood outside with some signs… Oh, but it is so much more than that. Something happened, something big. Not just in a city close to me, but around the entire world. People took a stand. When is the last time you can remember average people taking time out to gather and fight for something they believed in? Me either.

This past Sunday was the 10th of February in 2008, a day of which we were to be very wary of according to Anonymous. Chances are that you were not wary unless you are a Scientologist. What were called “real life raids” by Anonymous was nothing short of amazing in my eyes. Not because people honked because they read “honk if you hate Scientology” signs, but because people got out from behind their computer screens. They left their zone of comfort and went to the streets.

Now of course nothing magical happened, but it’s a start. Not the beginning of the end for Scientology, though that may very well be. This is the start of our generation taking a stand for what the believe in. Not just blogging about it, but taking action take that takes time, and courage. People have become far too complacent about this organization, our governments, society, and our lives in general. With the power of the internet we can organize ourselves better, and hopefully see our generation rise to take a stand. This is Our Renaissance.

Props to whoever took the above picture, it was posted everywhere so I don’t know who to credit. Also, be sure to check out all the media coverage if you missed it. Another side note, there will be more protests on March 15th.
